NSE sets IPO price band at ₹1,700-1,785 and cuts the offer size
Finlaunch Newsdesk · 11 September 2026

NSE set a ₹1,700-1,785 price band for its IPO, which is only a sale by existing shareholders, and cut the number of shares on offer to about 12.64 crore from 14.9 crore.
The National Stock Exchange fixed a price band of ₹1,700-1,785 per share for its IPO. Bidding runs from 17 to 21 September, and anchor investors bid on 16 September. The minimum bid is 8 shares, which costs ₹14,280 at the top of the band. The shares are due to list on the BSE, with listing planned for 24 September.
The issue is entirely an offer for sale (OFS) by existing shareholders, so the exchange itself receives no money. The red herring prospectus cuts the OFS to about 12.64 crore shares from the roughly 14.9 crore in the draft. This brings the issue size to about ₹21,494-22,567 crore, which is below Hyundai Motor India's record IPO. SBI, MS Strategic (Mauritius), Bank of Baroda and some other sellers are selling fewer shares than planned. Half of the net offer is reserved for institutional buyers (QIBs), 35% for retail investors and 15% for non-institutional investors (NIIs).
Why it matters for unlisted-share investors
NSE has been one of the most traded names in India's unlisted market. The report compared its unlisted-market price of about ₹2,007 with the top of the price band. This gap is useful context for anyone who has followed valuations of well-known pre-IPO companies.
