Navi raises its first outside capital with $100M from Prosus

Finlaunch Newsdesk · 19 August 2026

Sachin Bansal's fintech Navi took $100 million from Prosus in its first institutional round, reportedly valuing it at about $1.3 billion.

Navi, the fintech founded by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal, raised $100 million from Prosus. It is the eight-year-old company's first money from institutional investors. People familiar with the deal put Navi's valuation at about $1.3 billion. The deal still needs customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

For the year to March 2026, Navi reported about ₹30.91 billion in revenue and a net loss of about ₹4.66 billion. It says it reached consolidated profitability in Q4 FY26. Its UPI app processed more than 947 million transactions in July, and its lending arm manages over ₹130 billion in assets. Navi is reportedly reviving plans for an IPO of about ₹30 billion, after dropping an earlier attempt when markets weakened.

Why it matters for unlisted-share investors

Funding rounds shortly before an IPO often set the valuation that unlisted-market buyers and sellers compare against later. Navi is also a founder-funded company taking outside money for the first time, which can change who owns it before a possible listing.
