Finlaunch Newsdesk · 27 August 2026

Prime Database counts 60 IPOs raising ₹72,165 crore in January-August 2026, and most of the money came in July and August.

Prime Database figures show 60 IPOs in India between January and August 2026, raising ₹72,165 crore in total. July and August together had 33 issues that raised ₹49,592 crore, close to 69% of the year's total so far. July raised ₹28,648 crore from 12 IPOs, the most money in any month this year. August had 21 issues, the most by count, raising ₹20,944 crore.

The first half of the year was much quieter. January to June had 27 issues raising ₹22,573 crore, and May had no IPOs at all. Prime Database said 75 companies are waiting for regulatory approval, with a combined estimated issue size of about ₹2.02 lakh crore. Large names in that pipeline include Jio Platforms, NSE, Razorpay, Kuku FM and Cult.fit.

Why it matters for unlisted-share investors

A busier IPO market can shorten the time for which pre-IPO shares stay unlisted. Many companies in the pipeline are popular in the unlisted market. Still, IPO timing depends on market conditions, and plans can be delayed or dropped.
